The cost per click (CPC) in Google Ads varies significantly based on several factors, including industry, keywords, competition, ad placement, ad quality, search intent, location, time of day, and your overall advertising strategy. Google Ads works on a bidding system, where advertisers bid on specific keywords or placements to have their ads shown.

So assuming at this point you have a Google ads account setup your best friend to help figure out how much it costs per click to use the built in tool called Keyword planner.

It’s a tool that will help you find the cost per click for different search query and also based on location.

The two column you need to be aware of is the top of page bid (low range) this is the lowest it’s going to cost you to place your ad anywhere on page 1 where as the top of page bid (high range) is specifying on the high end how much competitors are bidding to get there ads listed in the first 1-3 spots on Google search.

With top of page (low range) you can go lower than $4.08 which just means that you’ll be bidding on page 2 and beyond so the range really varies. There’s a bit of a/b testing involved depending on how much you’re willing to pay per click you’ll need to determine if that bidding range receives an ideal amount of impressions and clicks. The way to help determine this is by figuring out the proportion of total search volume for a keyword and how many impressions/clicks you're receiving. If you need more clicks then you’ll need to increase your bidding for a click to improve the visibility of your ads which will result in more clicks. So sum this up the cost per click is dependent on your needs & also the keyword and location.
